Default Rare items?

Hey guys, just curious with the order of rare drops. I am still playing my first character (level 18 now).

I always thought that the most common items were white and then went up to gold, as below.

Gold > Green > Purple > Blue > White

The weird thing is that I have found hundreds of purples, blues and whites, absolutely zero greens and about 6 or 7 gold items. Have i gotten greens and golds mixed up with their level of rarity?

Also is there some sort of list that I can look through that will show me if the golds i have are just vendor trash or actually good for other characters?

Cheers in advance.

Actually, It goes

Gold>Purple>Blue>White

Greens are in a league of their own, because they cannot be modified, and once you find a green with max damage (Not including Greens from noob island - All greens have max mods) then its as max as its ever going to get.

You can find purples with max damamge, and then all you gotta do is replace the mods with max mods and viola, a perfect purple. Same goes with Golds. Golds are like greens in that they are highly sough after, and are often max in some way (mods or damage) So while a Green will always be perfect you cannot mod them. But while a Gold is not always perfect when you find them, they are able to be changed to make them perfect. And there we have the difference.

green items are sort of a class of their own, since they are "unique" items, and every green with the same name will will have the same stats. They are an easy way to get max mods on a weapon with a 9 req.

There's an article on item rarity on guildwiki here.

sorry to break ur heart but a perfectly modded purple is not perfect damage mod does make a difference so technically the only way to make a truely perfect weapon is to have it either gold or inscribable
NOTE: sorry i forgot this but it is useful to some i do not recomend purchasing any expensive weapons this early find a max collector one and possble mod it but mainly work on getting max armor which is as followed for class
war/par=80
sin/ranger/derv=70
the rest=60
try for that first

Thanks for the replies, it seems to make sense to me now. I looked at the Guildwiki page and found information about weapon upgrades. If i pick up a blue weapon and it says "highly salvagable" I usually just salvage the item with my normal salvage kit, should i be using an advanced salvage kit to do this instead as I may be able to get a particular weapon upgrade?

thanks again.

I could be wrong and be mis-understanding what you are saying, but, purples can come with perfect core stats, its the upgrades (prefix/suffix) that are never perfect, but as it has been stated those can be changed. I know this because one of my favorite items I own and use is a 15-22 req9 PURPLE Briar Blade (sword).

You can use an expert/superior salvage kit to possibly get rare crafting material as opposed to the cheap common stuff. And if there are upgrades on it, you can remove them and re-use them if you use an expert/superior kit as well. So you can find good upgrades on crappy weapons and put them together onto good weapons to have awsome weapons.

purple items can come with perfect core stats. however, they will never have perfect inherit mods, or inscriptions. in NF, you can just swap in a perfect inscription, making these funky purple items with perfect stats. however, purple items found outside of NF will NEVER have perfect mods, because you cannot change their inherit mods.

Purple highest inhert is 11-14 > 50. That is usually 1-2 points off max (High end purple *Worthless unless the skin is rare*).

Some golds do not have max inhert as some are 1 points off max.
